El Chihuahua bears the name of the state of Chihuahua which is the largest state in Mexico, Chihuahua is a Taraumara Indian word meaning a feeding field, a place where the corn grows.  Chihuahua is centrally located south of the Arizona/Texas border and has everything from deserts to wooded mountainsides.  The Copper Canyon is the state's most popular landmark which attracts visitors from all over the world.
 
El Chihuahua Restaurant was started in 1978 by the Quinonez Family after the Manuel Quinonez left the Guadalupe Center (La Morena Cafe) to begin his own Mexican food restaurant.  Through many years in the restaurant business, Manuel perfected his recipes to blend the taste and flavor of his homeland.  This tradition is now being carried on by his family.  We use only the best ingredients to prepare our dishes.  Our food is made fresh to enhance the taste of each recipe.
